OUR STORY

Development Education for Rural Mass "DERMA" was started in the year 1988. Initially, some youths, interested in general development activities in a rural area, in Thiruvarangulam, started assisting the rural poor by way of drawing petitions to govt. authorities on their grievances and providing tuitions to the poor children in the evening hours. Little by little, DERMA entered in organizing people by forming associations for youth and women. While involving in community organization, DERMA felt the need for getting "locus standi" to raise voice against the injustice caused to the poor people particularly women. So, DERMA got its registration in 1988. Since then it has been involving in many development activities
